The Tigers’ victory added to Mizzou’s Homecoming celebration, a tradition that started more than 100 years ago. Known as the birthplace of Homecoming, it all began in 1911 when former athletic director Chester Brewer, called for alumni to “come home” for the annual football game versus KU. Today, Mizzou Homecoming has grown into one of the largest student-run celebrations of its kind and was recently named the best Homecoming in the nation.
